Warband is superior in every conceivable way to the original Mount and Blade. Fire and Sword changes the factions and adds firearms and new stuff, but has been noted by many as being less.

I can't believe no one has mentioned this but the upgrading and managing my companions skill and equipment is so. If I have 8 companions (who all level up at the same time usually) I have to enter conversation, hit the right option, level up, leave, find the next companion, enter conversation etc.
Do that 8 times, and then do the same thing again for all of their equipment.Why can't I just use use an arrow at the top left like they do in mass effect? It really doesn't seem like it should be that difficult. I'll start:.Attacking caravans makes you lose honour.
It's wartime and people are slaughteting peasants and looting their homes but apparently disrupting the economy of my enemy makes me a very bad man.When you have your own faction and you think you can finally appoint someone else to be the marshall and they start a campaign taking 70% of the lords with them only to raid 2 villages and patrolling while the enemy is sieging your cities and raiding your whole territory.How going full cavalry army will make you steamroll the whole game and winning battles when you have the 1/5 of the troops they do. (I know some mods make balances around cavalry and it's mainly my fault for exploiting the bad AI in this game.). You are actually doing something even when the lords are released/escaped. When all their troops are destroyed they have to start off with weak troops all over again. So it gets really easy to beat king harlous after the 3rd time because by then half of his troops are peasants. Also (I'm not sure if this is true) but I believe that enemy lords lose renown when they are beaten. And since renown helps give you more troops.
If you have less of it the maximum amount of troops you have gets decreased.
